East Friesian Dairy Sheep
In 2017 we added East Friesian dairy sheep to our flock from Allen’s Creek Farm. East Friesian sheep are a true triple purpose breed as they are bred for udder depth & milk production, they have beautiful wool, and fast growing lambs that can be raised for meat. We have also found them to be the most friendly, personable sheep we have ever raised. The Allen’s Creek East Friesians have a small percentage of Katahdin genetics which add hardiness and parasite tolerance, so important in our Virginia climate. Both East Friesians and Katahdins are prolific breeds often producing twins, triplets, and rarely even quadruplet lambs!
These make excellent triple purpose homestead sheep. Contact us if you are interested in purchasing weaned lambs in the summer.
